Reviews are taking the lead role in the ecommerce business. By the 25th of November 2022, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) decides to implement the protocols to diminish the fake reviews in all the reviewing platforms which help the consumer, organization and even the sellers. Initially, it plans with the trial test for three days, and then it will be in the call to action in all available platforms that are applicable for reviewing. This information was officially reported by the Secretary of the Department of Consumer Affairs, Rohit Kumar Singh in a recent interview with the reporters.
The mission is to help consumers with genuine product usage reviews by introducing the framework for security purposes. Which includes integrity, accuracy, privacy, security, transparency, accessibility and responsiveness with the addon responsibility for the author and administrator who reviews.
Bureau of Indian Standards is the National Standards Body of India under the Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India which was established under the BIS act on 12 October 2017. One major function is the formulation, recognition and promotion of the economy that helps the industry’s quality of its products and services.
Big ecommerce giants like Amazon and Flipkart also face fake reviews. which ends in the negative trust approach of the brands. As user reviews help the consumer in decision-making purchases. For the Author who reviews, the terms and conditions, contact information is required for the authentication process. Next for the Administrator who handles the reviews of the organization, personal information and training are required for the verification.
In the next 15 days, the governments set a plan to start with the certification process where all the ecommerce platforms can apply for the certification. India will be the first country to set standards for product reviews all over the world. In spite of all the other countries also have the same struggle of handling fake products.
This gives both manual and auto control for reviewing the content. Through this pass, there will be accurate reviews, perfect display and the weightage of the reviews percentages. As this is not the judicial order, as soon as possible it ensures all the platforms imply the framework.
